Urbanelite Promotions are first & foremost the in house production & promotions team of UK label New Dawn, and this website is the official home of New Dawn. We have become well known by artists, labels, djs, promoters and supporters of underground hiphop globally, largely due to previous assistance given and of course the information provided on this website. We have now linked up with Appetite Press and Fake Media in England who specialise in servicing the key hiphop press & radio media in the UK, while we also have a substantial mail list of UK hiphop mixtape djs, internet journalists and contacts with tv promoters and live promoters. In July 2005, Urbanelite teamed up with Appetite & Fake Media (who between them have experience working for Arista, BMG, Polydor, Jive, Epic & Virgin), to offer a service to overseas labels & artists looking to have their records, and in particular albums, promoted in the UK. Imports are the area in which we specialize, though we will of course consider UK artists.

Between them, Appetite and Fake Media have the experience of promoting records by Tupac, Mystikal, R Kelly, KRS-1, Madlib, Dangermouse, Bad boy, TLC, Portishead and the press for the 8 Mile promo in the UK

We are also in a position to liase with land distributors in the UK, France, Germany etc for you. Providing we have agreed to work the record and can show the distributor details of the promotion plan, they will accept your record from us for consideration. Please note we make the distinction between bonafide land distributors and ten a penny websites selling records & calling it "distribution". Obviously the distributors may agree provisionally to distribute your record assuming the exposure for it has been good, but at that point you will be put in touch with the distributor.

This all comes under the operation of URBANELITE PROMOTIONS, where we will act as co-ordinator and contact point for the label and artist, providing regular feedback as to how the campaign is progressing. We have a standard proposal which can be for a full comprehensive service, or any part of the promotional activity, for example, just radio, but of course, the greater the exposure, the greater opportunity for a real impact, but it all depends on the budgets available. We have a system where we request three copies of the proposed release so we may assess the record's chances before agreeing to take on the campaign, as this potentially saves both ourselves and the labels time & money, a factor which sets us apart from other organizations.

We are all drawing on many years' experience of promoting hiphop and urban music in the UK at street level and at the major radio & press players. We can also connect labels with street promoters in terms of, for example, flyer handouts etc, everything and anything that will maximise the potential exposure of any given record. We are also working with a production & artist development team in the UK who have many successful years in the UK music industry having written for Xibit & Ludacris, produced for Beverley Knight & Jamiroquai and worked as A&R in major record companies.
